History of AMID

In the beginning, the "inner circle" known each other from various retro related events.  One event, we all participated was the DoReCo party in Altenmellrich. So we had a whatsapp group called "DoReCo Dudes".

Due the circumstances none of us where actually a DoReCo orga or related, and my dream to have a more scene-related group i invited my friends at home and surprised them with a new name called "AMID".

Why "AMID"?

If you translate amid you will come up with something like "in the middle" or in german "mittendrin". That was the key - most of us were connected here and there in various retro or even scene related events, so the name had its sense.

As most my friends were not active in the scene itself, there was quite a surprise to have a "likely" scene-group. I thought for some members it would be a matter of time, because there was a general interest in scene productions.

With travelling arround to demo-events i pushed myself to make my first releases and forced connections to other sceners. If the vibe was there, there was an invite to our group.

So time goes by, and more and more scene-related members joined AMID and more and more releases (in the beginning most likeley done by Harvey and myself) came out.

I am very happy today to see how the group has its place in the scene and we are a bunch of happy enthusiasts.

Design and core elements

The original Logo is done with the ungai font (which is kindly licensed by the original author / just the skills) that is used in this website, too.

As most sceners print their logos on black hoodies, i decided to make a high contrast, simple white font on red background to make sure everyone notices ;-)

The typeface and the chinese symbols on the bottom right corner are inspirated by my idea of sceners be like ninjas and my love for their artform and the mysterious.
